COVID-19 – Dealer Statement
To all our Dealer Partners,
In recent weeks we have seen a stream of headlines and volatility in financial markets as authorities and businesses react to the global spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The virus has impacted sentiment, markets and the ways in which we live and work and we know that many people are uncertain and anxious about what comes next.
Whilst we can’t predict what will happen, we want to assure you, our Dealer Partners, that Mann Island recognises the risks associated with COVID-19 and is coordinating all internal and operational capability to ensure that we are as ready as we can be to protect our staff, continue to support your business and to operate effectively.
We also want to reassure you that we are ready to support any measures you may take as a business during this period of business disruption. So if you find that you need to change the way in which you operate, please let us know so we can try and accommodate and support the changes you have in mind. For us, helping you to keep your business moving forward is our priority because we recognise that our success is dependent on your success.
For our part we are taking a range of actions to ensure that we can continue to operate effectively.
Official and Medical Guidance:
We monitor constantly the guidance provided by the authorities. We ensure that we keep our staff current on all relevant official advice and directives, and fashion our internal guidelines accordingly. We have taken advice from medical specialists on the nature of Covid-19 and ensured our staff have been fully briefed on how to work from home should they show any symptoms associated with the virus.
We have restricted travel between our offices in London, Reading, Motherwell and Liverpool to only critical trips and are using Video and Audio Conference facilities instead wherever possible.
We are reducing, and in many cases postponing, the number of events and meetings we organise, host and attend. We want to make sure that our clients and staff are not unnecessarily exposed to large crowds.
We have provided the means for our operational staff to work from home and are testing and retesting the capacity for our businesses to ensure continuity with sections of staff working from home on an alternate basis. We are working to ensure that our IT systems can support this flexibility and are adapting working practice based on the testing experiences we have had. Whilst these measures are likely to have some short term impact on service levels we believe it is sensible to be prepared for any further escalation introduced by the Government in the days & weeks ahead so that we can continue to support you and your business.
We will share updates with you should the risk escalate significantly or conditions change meaningfully in the weeks ahead, but in the meantime please feel free to speak to your local Development Manager if you have any concerns or if you think your business will need support through this period.
